Email Address Price Tags

No, I’m not talking about selling your list or purchasing lists, but rather about what your current opt-in house list is worth.  What is each email address worth over the life of the customer?  Are there peaks and valleys of purchasing throughout the lifecycle?  On a seperate note, don’t you want to trend that and key in on the peaks…But I digress.

How can you squeeze a few more cents out of that email address?  You have a house list of 5,000 – what if you could get $0.50 more out of each address?  Is it worth the time?  You bet!

Try cutting your list into 4 or 5 different groups.  Create a different message for each group – with pertinent information of course and then cut each group in half.  Send each message to each group but with different subject lines to each half group.  Closely measure the results and you will quickly get a picture of what might shake the pockets of your customers.
