FAQ Friday: Two for One – Survey and Mail Merge

Swiftpage Support has put together a list of the top Frequently Asked Questions that our staff receives. We plan on posting one FAQ on our blog a week to provide our customers with another resource for their questions. Kassi Johnson, our Customer Service Manager, has put this list together. Her Email address is posted on Kassi Johnson’s about page if you would like to contact her with any further questions.

Do Swiftpage surveys have the ability to do registrations?

Yes, with Swiftpage you can capture registration information, create sign-up forms, RSVPs, customer feedback, etc. all with the Swiftpage survey feature.  This survey feature collects any information you need.  Click here for information on how to get started with creating a new survey in Swiftpage’s online editor.

If you have ACT! as your customer database and you have a Pro or Team level Swiftpage account, you can use the List Builder or List Updater function to import survey responses automatically into ACT!.  Click on those options to learn more about each type of survey.

How do I add mail merge fields to my imported template?

Adding mail merge fields to imported templates works the same way as it does to add them to regular templates, with the exception that the mail merge fields must be added into the imported template *before* the template is actually imported.

To add a mail merge field to your imported template before you import it, simply put the database field name you wish to merge into your template with double square brackets around it (e.g. [[First Name]]).  Any database field can be used, as long as you put it in double square brackets.  So, for example, a database field called Home Phone would appear in your template as [[Home Phone]]
