Utilizing Web Forms to Your Advantage

Web forms allow you to capture new information about old and potential clients.  You can use web forms in various ways to reach the greatest scope possible.  Through events, your homepage, blog page and even emails you can attract your most interested prospects.

Let’s touch on a few ways you can take advantage of web forms.

Add a web form to your website.  There are many fitting pages on any given website for a web form to be on.  Your homepage is a great start as it is the most likely visited page.  Other pages to consider are your news or article pages, resource pages, event pages and blog.

Use web forms for event registration and to access post event resources.  Gather prospects’ contact information through event registrations.  The necessary survey fields to include are the name, email, phone number and whether they are a current customer or not.  This way you can determine new leads from customers.  For post event resources (include slide deck, recordings and content), have the interested people access all information via web form using the same survey fields.

Add a sign up link in emails.  This may sound like an odd strategy but it is helpful for those who forward your emails to friends and colleagues.  The person receiving the forwarded email will see the link to the web form in the email and can decide to opt-in themselves.

Incentivize your web forms.  Just as you access event resources via web form, let your potential customers access valuable content such as industry reports or white papers via web form.  This content serves as a great incentive for people to share their information with you.

Sync it with your database. Once the participant fills out the web form and hits submit, the information will automatically sync with your database using Swiftpage’s survey tool.  They will automatically be added to your future email communications and can even be added to automated marketing campaigns to seal the deal (read below).

Set up an automated marketing campaign.  Depending on the type of web form, you can set up Drip Marketing campaigns that can automatically follow up with your new contacts with further information about your products and services.  You can specifically target these communications depending on interactions recipients have with your emails.  You can even rank them as hot, warm or mild leads to generate a Call List for your sales teams to follow up that will ultimately close the deal!

You can take advantage of so many different ways to use a web form.  How have you been most successful??
