FAQ Friday: How do I change the color of a text link?

Q: How do I change the color of a text link?

A: Click on the SwiftWindow that has the link text you would like to color and click the Content Editor tab > Text Options > Edit Text. Highlight the text you want to color, and then click on the second-from-the-right button in the middle row of the text toolbar (which looks like two A’s next to each other).  This will change the font color of your hyperlink. For more information see #34 on our Text Toolbar page.

Changing this font color may not change the color of the underline below the hyperlink.  To change the color of the underline as well, click on the Source button in the top left-hand corner of the Edit Text screen.  Find the text you are linking in the source code (e.g. Click Here), and then add a closing and opening underline HTML code — <u> and </u> respectively — around the linked words.  For instance, code that looks like this:

<a href=”http://www.swiftpage.com“>Click Here</a>

would change to this:

<a href=”http://www.swiftpage.com“><u>Click Here</u></a>

This will cause the underline mark below your hyperlinked text to change to the same font color as the letters.
