SwiftTip- Benefits of segmenting your Call Lists

As email marketers, we all know the importance using call lists to follow up with interested leads.  Segmenting call lists when done properly, can help the customer, the sales team, and the sales manager. We asked Swiftpage’s local Senior Director of Sales, Tim Meile, his opinion on the benefits of segmenting lists. He believes it to be one of the greatest organizational tools, for everybody involved.

1)     The customer- If the lead you are pursuing is a “hot lead” then they are likely interested in what you are offering.  Reaching out to the customer at the right time will enable your company to meet your customers’ needs, lessening the chances of them having their needs met elsewhere.

2)     The sales team- By calling into a segmented call list the team is able to prioritize their time, ensuring they reach out to the most interested leads first.  The sales team is also provided with some background information on your customers. They can use this background component to better relate to the customer, and further understand what it is that they need from you. By taking notes on calls, the team can work to further segment your list, gaining valuable information when it comes time to follow-up.

3)     Management- You can organize and distribute your list in various ways. As a manager, for example, you can give your hottest leads to your best sales representative for immediate follow-up. Or, you can evenly distribute your hot, warm, and mild leads across your team and offer an incentive for the agent who closes the most sales. The ability to segment your call lists increases your team’s chances of making the right call at the right time to close a sale.

Segmenting your call list has the potential to make your life easier while increasing your sales- and who wouldn’t be up for that!?

Tim rarely has time to listen to music while he is making calls to hot leads, but, he does love the occasional Lynyrd Skynyrd song!
