Keep Customers Engaged: Host an Event

Happy Halloween! Today reminds me that the holiday season is officially upon us. With holidays come events. Events offer an excellent opportunity to reach out to your customers in a new way. In a world gone digital, events help businesses maintain a sense of connectedness with their customer base. We’ve summarized some unique event opportunities for your business to consider.

Host an Online Webinar

If your customer base is wide spread, an online event could be an excellent opportunity to draw them together. Online webinars are ideal events for training, product releases, and other informational sessions. Services such as Go To Meeting make it simple for you to host a webinar from the comfort of your office. Webinars require a small time commitment from your customer since they can join in without the need to travel.

Hold an Open House

Customers appreciate putting a face with a name. It improves customer relations and strengthens customer loyalty. Hosting an open house at your office, warehouse, or store gives customers a chance to meet the people who they speak to on the phone and service their needs. Even if your office is slightly nontraditional, don’t write off the value of an open house event. Most of us are curious about how other companies function and would love an inside look at their corporate culture.

Sponsor a Race

People like to rally around a cause. More than that, customers like to know the companies they do business with are committed to a cause. Event sponsorship is a unique way to increase customer loyalty while contributing to a greater good. Find a local 5K run or go for a large event such as the Race for the Cure. Once you have selected an event, let your customers know and invite them to participate in the event as a member of your company’s team. Your customers will appreciate the invitation and see the softer side of your business.

Do Something Different

Did you know Denver has a rugby stadium? Neither did I until I was invited to attend an event there. Search your local area for unique venues where you could host a seminar, party, or summit. The intrigue of going to a different kind of venue will boost your attendance and give you more reach.

Alternatively, look for a distinctive activity for your customer’s to enjoy… painting classes, wine tasting, brewery tours, indoor skydiving, ropes courses, horseback riding, ice skating, polo… get creative! Customers are likely to attend an event that leaves them with a special memory and remember the business that hosted that event.

Events offer nontraditional access to your customer base and give you an exceptional opportunity to impress your customers and deepen their customer loyalty. Get started planning your events now and tell us about the events your company hosts!
