Mother’s Day is Coming: Email Marketing Ideas for Every Business

Mother’s Day in the U.S. is coming up on Sunday. If you haven’t sent any email marketing yet, Mother’s Day offers an excellent opportunity to reach out in an unique way. Here are some email marketing ideas for Mother’s Day:

  1. Retailers – Send an email with a handful of unique Mother’s Day finds from your shop. Offer free delivery within your area for those last minute shoppers.
  2. Restaurants – Offer a deal to moms. Set yourself apart from competitors by allowing her to use the deal for the rest of the month instead of just on Sunday.
  3. Service Providers – Send an email offering mom a discount or something free. Step it up a notch by allowing her to include a friend or loved one.
  4. Consultants – Give moms an hour of consulting work at a discounted rate or better yet, free.
  5. Realtors – Offer to pay for a babysitter for a couple of hours so parents can go on showings sans kids.

Ideas for Any Business

  1. Create a Best of Mother’s Day list with gift ideas from your team. Here are a few ideas from some Swifties:
    • Since my brother moved home for the summer, we gave my mom noise cancelling headphones for mother’s day so that she can enjoy some peace and quiet once in awhile. – Lindsey Weinig
    • If my mom was as geeky as I am, she would love this as a mother’s day gift.  Unfortunately she is not…sigh… Now this one my mom might actually go for. – Adam Preeo
    • Best gift I ever gave to my Mom on Mother’s Day: Poster with my hand prints on it – Quoted “You Are The Best Mom Hands Down.” – Jessica Hites
  2. Create an offer just for moms who use your business. Look at what other businesses in your industry are offering and think outside the box to set your business apart.
  3. Run a Mother’s Day social media contest and offer a prize such as a spa day to the winning mom. Here’s some contest inspiration from Arbonne.
  4. Send an email after Mother’s Day. It’s never too late to appreciate moms. Sending your email post Mother’s Day will help you stand out from the crowd.
  5. Gather a few quotes about moms and send a thank you to all moms from your organization. Here are a couple to get you started from our team:
    • My mother always said, “it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” Helps me keep at something until I get it right 🙂 – Rowan Koons
    • Mom is another word for Superhero.  – Kassi Johnson

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there! None of us would be where we are today without a mom.
