Give Your Business a Personal Touch

Recently my husband and I went shopping at Men’s Wearhouse. After a great experience, our salesman attached his business card to our receipt. The bottom of the card read, “Comments? Call George at 1-800-851-6744.” George Zimmer is the founder and CEO of Men’s Wearhouse. I was immediately taken with the way Men’s Wearhouse added a personal touch to their business cards and visited their website to see if I would find more of the same. Sure enough I found a whole page called, “Ask George.”

Now, I have been in marketing long enough to know when I call the 800 number or fill out the form, it is highly unlikely that George Zimmer will be the one to personally respond to my inquiry. However, what Men’s Wearhouse has done is made their business personal. They have given the consumer a direct connection to the man in charge. Personalizing a business is an excellent strategy to increase brand loyalty in a world that has become more and more socially driven.

So, how can you give your business a personal touch? Share your ideas!
