In a recent blog post our Director of Product Management, Adam Preeo, reminded us of the importance of well-executed personalization in our email marketing efforts. Since our world has gone digital, many customers long for a company who truly ‘knows them.’ Simple acts of personalization in email campaigns can go a long way in winning customer’s business.
Here are a few tricks to add to your bag:
- Make use of the Mail Merge feature and include specifics about a customer in your emails. The Mail Merge tool is quite robust and can go far beyond just including names.
- Create customer stories or personas to better understand your target. Think about demographics, job level, specific needs and goals. Craft emails to the personas you create.
- Once your personas are created, segment your list to send the most relevant communications to the right groups.
- Use a real person as your reply-to email address. For example, use Jane@abc.com instead of firstname.lastname@example.org. Even email@example.com is much better than noreply addresses. You want to generate conversation, not shut it down.
We all like to know someone is paying attention to who we are. No one wants to be a number on a list. Showing your contacts you care about knowing them does wonders for brand commitment.
