28 Days of Email Inspiration: Day 19

We love email…and we love sharing our passion with you. During the month of February aka the “month of love”, we will be featuring one email a day with tips, commentary and more from industry experts.

Day 19: dish Authorized Retailer Inspires Us to Stay Out of Junk Mail

Subject Line: Save Over $860 with DISH
Industry: Retail, Cable/Satellite Provider
Type of Email: Sales

I found this email in my junk mail folder and it isn’t hard to tell why. Hopefully it inspires you to stay out the junk mail folder of your recipients.

  • The sender isn’t actually Dish Network, it is a “Dish Authorized Retailer”.
  • The subject line uses a symbol, numbers, capitalized letters, and spam-friendly words “Save Over”.
  • The email is made up of one entire image.
  • The email message includes spam buzz words like “Free Quote”, “FREE Service”, and “FREE Activation”.
