28 Days of Email Inspiration: Day 24

We love email…and we love sharing our passion with you. During the month of February aka the “month of love”, we will be featuring one email a day with tips, commentary and more from industry experts.

Day 24: Verizon Inspires with Animated Scrolling .gif

If you use a webmail email client, chances are you have received an email with an animated .gif. Animation adds an element of interaction and excites readers. What you may not know is that not all email clients can view animated .gifs. So if you are using a more recent version of Outlook, chances are you aren’t seeing the animation. Click here for a list of supported email clients. This particular .gif automatically scrolled through app images to drive clicks and downloads for the top twenty apps. View scrolling .gif >

Compare this with Day 16 from AT&T and see what type of newsletter you prefer.

Other Great Elements:

  • Seasonal: Verizon does a great job incorporating New Year’s and resolution elements into the email including fitness products, new apps, and account management.
  • Personalization: Verizon personalizes their newsletter with the ending four digits of your mobile number as well as using your name in the header.
  • Custom Icons: Each section is given a unique icon to draw more attention and personalize each title.
