  1. Does this mean that the 17% who use Outlook as their email client may never be counted in the number of “unique openings” form swiftpage bulk emails as the receiptiants may only “preview”/ I remember being told the number could be large, but this borders on 20%

Also am I right that #1,3,4,5 are only for phone and tablet use, not laptops, etc?

Personally I have 2 email accounts, neither in the top 10- and I preview most everything through Outlook as it downloads and I work through it into my ACT files.

    • Jerry,

Thanks for your comment. I think you might be confusing open rates with the market share of email clients. This report specifically speaks to the email clients people use to read email, not open rates. The standard open rate in the industry is still hovering a little under 30%. This article might also give you some clarity as to what counts as an open. Thanks for reaching out!

      • Thanks Audrey,
1.) I think in the followed up article I understand that Outpreviews do not count if their is no photo…correct?

2.) Am I correct that email clients #1,3,4,5 are only for phones and tablets? Is there a swift page template that works best for these? I usually use the blank, no header, 1 column for my emails. Is this the best for phones and tablets?

      • Jerry,

A one column template is a great option for mobile devices! Well done! As to the previews, without photos downloaded, the open would not count.
