5+ Tools to Create Cool Visual Content

Visual content is a crucial piece of any company’s marketing strategy. Us humans are compelled by visual content. How do we know?

  • Company status updates which include photo albums get 180% stronger engagement and videos get 100 % stronger engagement. (source)
  • An infographic from Simply Measured says photo and video posts on Pinterest now refer more web traffice than Twitter, StumbleUpon and Google+ combined! (source)

So we can all agree visual content is important, but how do we create it if we aren’t designers and can’t afford to pay for one? Here are some free tools to try to start creating visual content for your brand!

Edit Images with Ease

Pixlr is a free online image editing tool with a lot of functionality. You can edit your own images, add effects and text, create collages, optimize images for mobile devices and more. Check out what I did in 5 minutes to a picture of our Swiftpage bikes.

Make Beautiful Quotes

Quotes displayed visually are popping up all over. Many of us have a Pinterest board or two just for quotes! Check out Quozio! Their tagline is, “Make beautiful quotes,” and it is accurate. Plug in your quote and who said it and you end up with an image like the one below.

Turn Data into an Infographic

Infographics have been steadily gaining popularity. Presenting data with infographics is not only cool, it is effective since most learning occurs visually. Infogr.am allows you to create your own infographics for free. Give it a try!

Create a Meme

We’ve all seen memes across the internet. Why not make some of your own? Try the free Meme Generator from imgflip. You can chose from their pictures or upload your own. Meme Example

Use Your Phone

It’s amazing how many tools are available on smartphones to create compelling visuals. I use Pic Stitch followed by Instagram to create cool picture collages. Vine makes neat 6 second videos. Services like PostalPix allow you to print your photos straight from your phone to display around your office. Using your phone is an easy way to create visual content to share with your followers.
