We have all seen the buzz surrounding couponing this past year with shows such as Extreme Couponing on TLC. While I am not an extreme couponer, I do appreciate a deal now and then.
A few weeks ago, we took our kids to a free event in our city. They received a lot of giveaways, including a coupon to a new family restaurant in our area, Pizza Doodle. Pizza Doodle boasts good pizza, a family friendly atmosphere and a kids play room so adults may get a few words in over the meal.
After receiving the coupon, we decided to go check it out. We had a great experience and our kids really enjoyed themselves as well. The big bonus of the night was the conversation my husband and I got to have while our kiddos played.
So why did we go? Honestly, without the coupon I am not sure we ever would have heard of or seen this restaurant. The coupon had enough information and enough of a deal to draw us in. Plus, it was handed out at an event targeted at our demographic.
And what has happened since? We have been back sans coupon AND we have told many friends and family members about Pizza Doodle. Our kids ask to go regularly and we have become comitted customers.
While coupons won’t always make sense and don’t work for every business, they are certainly looking at and trying for your business.
Tell us how you use coupons to draw new customers to you!
